The Blackburn Campus
Our campus is located in Carlinville, Illinois, a friendly town of nearly 6,000 people. Our community lies only 40 miles south of Springfield, Illinois and 60 miles north of St. Louis, Missouri far enough away to enjoy the peace and friendliness of our Midwest community, but close enough to indulge in the entertainment and cultural experiences our neighbors have to offer. Travel to and from is easy Amtrak makes nine stops in Carlinville daily.
Construction of our 80-acre campus began in 1837. Since 1950, our students have had a hand in adding nine of our principle buildings on campus. Over the years, our students have built Blackburn literally brick by brick!

The student body at Blackburn doesnt seem to fit any specific mold. Students come to Blackburn from different states, with different interests, representing a variety of social and economic backgrounds. However, they all share some similar characteristics they know how to study hard, work hard and serve others well; they are creative, imaginative and interested in contributing positively to the unique mission of Blackburn College.
There is no other college or university in the United States quite like Blackburn. Our unique campus culture is the byproduct of our nationally acclaimed student-managed Work Program and rigorous liberal arts academic curriculum.
The result is what you see on a daily basis at Blackburn a unique setting for learning, growing and becoming a worldly leader.
