Athletics and Extra-Curricular Activities

Blackburn College is a NCAA Division III school. We offer our students opportunities to compete in intercollegiate athletics in six men’s and six women’s sports. We field competitive teams in cross-country, football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis and golf.

Approximately 30% of our students participate in athletics, and if you’re interested, we invite you to try out! We’re proud of our athletic tradition at Blackburn and we consistently compete for conference championships. Whether you’re a student in the stands or a player on the field, you’ll be part of a winning tradition!

If your talents are best expressed on-stage rather than the playing field, you will be interested in the many performing arts open to all students. Musical activities include the College Choir, Blackburn Voices (a chamber choral ensemble), Madrigals and the College Band, a community and college ensemble.

Multiple theatrical productions are held during the school year, including a fall play, spring musical and student-directed plays. All students are invited to try out or work backstage.

Student life at Blackburn is further enriched through a variety of activities and opportunities that extend the learning environment beyond the classroom. Some of these activities include:
